As a Marketing Communications major at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls (UWRF), we have the pleasure of integrating advertising, public relations, sales promotion, direct marketing, and personal selling into our educational backgrounds. By participating in special topics courses such as ST: Sales Promotion & Event Planning and ST: Non-Profit Marketing, we are given the chance to design, plan, and hold benefits for non-profits in the River Falls, WI area. The following are examples of such events hosted by UWRF students from September 2012 until May 2013.

BAGS & BANDS

Held on November 29th, 2012 at Juniors Bar & Grill in River Falls, WI. BAGS & BANDS raised funds to help benefit Feeding America & Hurricane Sandy Relief, a few weeks after the monster storm ripped through the east coast.

BAGS & BANDS offered live music, raffles, a costume contest, bean bag tournament and a night of fun to its attendees.

We raised more than $1,200 for Hurricane Sandy Relief during the course of the one-night event.

HARVEST HOOPLA

Harvest Hoopla was a fictional event, created as a part of our ST: Sales Promotion & Event Planning class. It featured a newly estabilished berry farm, White Pine Berry Farm in River Falls, WI. Harvest Hoopla was a fun and quirky family-friendly event.

We invited the owners of White Pine Berry Farm to attend Greg and Irma Zwald to attend our final presentation and presented them with a copy of our project. They would go on to incoperate parts of our design into their "Family Day."

The Harvest Hoopla page features parts of the finished project.Including the Event and Marketing Plan as well as an Appendix with various materials for the event.
